This is the ultimate insult after polling a dismal 2-3% in the recent national elections, Bush ubercrony, Ahmad Chalabi has been named interim Oil Minister. Un-be-leivable. This is the guy that keeps turning up like a bad penny and who was denied as, "someone I met on a couple of ropelines" by the Liar in-Chief himself when it turned out that he (Chalabi) was the one who convinced the supremely gullible prewar CIA that the Iraqi people would greet the conquering troops with chocolates and roses. He was known to the State Department-- and largely looked upon with a wary eye-- but he was saying there were weapons of mass destruction and he was an Iraqi (sorta, he rode out the Saddam era in London and is a British Citizen technically) so he was siezed upon by the Neocon faction in the Bush White House and lionized. When it was demonstrated that his WMD claims were all a pack of lies Bush ran away from him as fast as he could. More recently, in the lead-up to the recent national elections, it appeared that he was going to be a player in the constitutional aftermath and surprise...he re-emerged in an incredible WhiteHouse FLIP-FLOP-FLIP. This guy has been recycled so many times by the Bush crony network that we expect to see him driving the recycling truck in downtown Bahgdad. That of course would be a proper end for this slimy Bush pal, but instead we are now learning that the fox is not only getting the keys to the henhouse, he is selling the eggs. As Oil Minister he will be in the right place to protect the crony nework's all important oil interests. The most insulting part of all this is that they have the audacity to do this stealing in front of everybody who is watching. If ever there was any doubt that the motivation for war was nothing but oil; this is pretty much complete confirmation. I just hope we can make it to 2008---It can't come soon enough.
